Can same day Hire Bookings be done Online?
Yes, we allow same day hire bookings online, you get and instant confirmation when you do. But for processing purposes and other administrative procedures you will need to book at least 4 hours prior to the actual pick up.
Is It Possible to Take the Car abroad?
There are available cars that can be brought abroad (a daily charge will be incurred). Certain car models like 7 seaters and luxury cars are not. Make sure you verify with us before you make your travel plans.
Is There a fee to Cross the Irish border?
Yes, a daily fee is incurred.
Am I allowed to cancel my booking?
Yes you are allowed- there is a limit of 48 hour notice if you intend to get a refund (please read your terms and conditions for full conditions). To cancel your booking please email support@carhire99.com, an acknowledgement email will be sent back as confirmation that your booking was cancelled.
Am I Allowed to Pick up a Car Directly from an Airport or a Ferry Port?
Yes, just indicate the Country and the City where you require a Car and you will be advised of where you can pick up the including Ferry Ports and Airports.
Where Exactly do I Pick up the Car?
Once you have decided on the Car you want to hire simply click book and the address where you will pick up the Car will appear.
When and How do I Receive Confirmation?
Shortly after you book you will receive a confirmation email containing your booking details and the pick-up/drop-off points. If you do not receive an email right after you book (don’t forget to check your spam folder first) please contact us by emailing support@carhire99.com
What is the age requirement for hiring a car?
25 is considered standard, however, under special circumstances we do allow people between the ages of 21 to 25 to get a rental. (as stipulated in the Rental conditions under driver’s age when selecting a quote).
What are the Excesses, Mileage and Insurance Involved?
You will find this stipulated under Rental conditions.
If I have Questions During the Rental Period Who do I Contact?
You may email support@carhire99.com and someone will send you a response within 24 hours.
Can I include a Car Seat or are Extras not Included?
Extras are not included in your initial booking, but yes you can complete the booking process. Simply call the contact number indicated on your booking confirmation.
How do I pay for my Hired Car?
You will need to post payment using a Credit/Debit Card that is under the Driver’s name, a deposit is required when you confirm the booking and the balance paid when you pick up the Car*, (accepted cards are listed under Rental conditions/ Payment options). *Some suppliers entail full payment at time of booking.
What is my Guarantee that I will get the Car that I Requested Online?
We always try to provide the car that you request for, however, the units come in groups if your chosen unit is not available on the requested date we will provide one that is nearest in make and model from the same group. You can check out the similar models for possible alternatives. Similar models are available to view on the website.
Is there a certain number of points to be classed as a major endorsement on a license?
Yes 6 Points and above is a major endorsement and this disqualifies you from using a hired vehicle. Other restrictions are having less than 6 points but having points on Drunk driving, or driving with no MOT or Insurance, also restricts you from using a rented car.
What Identification do I need to Present when I Pick up the Car?
Bring your valid driver’s license, card and counterpart and the credit/debit card you used to post your deposit.
Will you Deliver the Car Instead of me Picking it up?
As of the moment this service is not available.

When to Use Winter/Snow Tires
Icy conditions and snowed in roads require you to use winter tires or snow tires, you may get them from our hire offices. As with other extras you can order them separately after you confirm your booking. These tires are advantageous in extreme weather conditions and are designed to provide better grip at low temperatures and reduce slip. The safety they will provide will be well worth the extra cost. Did you know that even if you have ABS or Traction Control without winter/snow tires they don’t actually stop you from skidding through slippery ice?
General Car Hire Insurance FAQ
Is There a way for me to reduce the Excess?
Yes there is. You are allowed to purchase Optional Excess Insurance when you book online with www.carhire99.com. This insurance enables to avoid all Excess Charges. Majority of car rental companies will charge you Excess. For claims you will normally pay the first GBP 1,000. For a minimal additional daily fee you get unparalleled peace of mind when you purchase the Excess Insurance. The policy is ultra-flexible. It will cover up to GBP 2000 of any excess, plus it can be used on all car types and you are also allowed to use it with other rental companies if we can confirm your rental. *Note: Excess Insurance is billed separately on your credit/debit card and is non-refundable.
Is it okay NOT purchase additional Excess Insurance Policy?
We will require you to present a pre-authorization in case you don’t purchase extra insurance. This pre-authorization is intended for use in deducting any incurred excess from your credit card (please check Terms & Conditions for further details). The amount indicated will vary with the vehicle type. A valid credit/debit card under the name of the driver is required as a form of deposit.
What is covered with the Theft Insurance?
Theft insurance included in the rental fees only covers the actual rental vehicle. Any personal belongings and effect that may be in the car during the theft will not be covered by the insurance.
How do Excess, Super CDW, Non-Waiver and Deductible Differ From Each Other?
Each car rental company have their own terminology but the mostly mean the same thing. When you rent a car Collision Damage Waiver and Theft cover are almost always included in the rental fees. Excess is usually not included (also referred to as Super CDW, Non Waiver or Deductible) on the CDW and Theft portion of the rental agreement. The amount involved will be different for every company and is based on the size and location of the vehicle. Make sure you verify the involved amount prior to booking the rented car.
